Location: NC: Charlotte, Wilmington
Be part of an exciting opportunity to work for an established mortgage company that is expanding a consumer direct division in Wilmington, NC. We are looking for individuals to originate investment quality residential mortgage loans (RHS/FHA/VA or Conventional) by prospecting and following up on company provided leads via phone in a timely manner. Company provided leads are obtained from internet sources, direct mail campaigns, referrals and other special marketing campaigns.
Responsibilities: will include communication with loan applicants regarding the loan application process and assisting them with identifying the loan product(s) that best meet their needs. Review the loan applicant’s credit and income qualifications. Pre-qualify potential home buyers. Negotiate terms and conditions of loans with loan applicants. Accurately completing the residential mortgage loan application and collect as much supporting documentation as possible at the time the loan application is taken. Facilitate the resolution of issues that may arise throughout the process including providing assistance with the correction and / or collection of documents needed to make the loan suitable for sale on the secondary market.
Must possess a valid active state mortgage loan originator license for any state in which you intend to originate residential mortgage loans, prior to engaging in any loan origination activities.
Education: Minimum of high school diploma. College degree preferred.
Prefer one year of loan origination experience or strong sales experience with demonstrated potential to transfer skills to mortgage origination.
Good oral and written communication skills are required.
Strong computer and multi-tasking skills are needed.
Should possess a working knowledge of standard loan products in the industry.
Strong familiarity with underwriting guidelines for the secondary market a plus: FNMA / FHLMC and RHS / FHA / VA.
Must possess superior interpersonal skills to interact effectively, with courtesy and respect at all times, toward customers and fellow employees to resolve concerns.
